Principal's Message

A Message from our Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the amazing faculty and staff of Shoally Creek Elementary School, I am excited to welcome you to our school family and team! I am honored to serve as the principal of such a growing and wonderful community school. It is my belief that by providing a safe and positive environment, a caring and supportive staff, and engaging and rigorous lessons all children will be successfully prepared for their next level of learning.

At SCES, student success is truly a team effort where parents, students, faculty, and staff work together. Our faculty and staff consistently focus on helping our students grow into responsible, respectful communityMeyer Family members who have the skills and desire to be lifelong learners and citizens. We are committed to providing highly effective instruction that leads to strong student learning and growth. As educators and parents, we have the awesome responsibility of working together as a community and with integrity, to create an inclusive environment that ensures every student is successful.

One of the strengths of our school is the support we are provided with by our community. Whether is it parents volunteering in classrooms or parents supporting field trips and PTO fundraising events, the time and effort our community members put into our school helps us deliver the high-quality learning environment that our students deserve.

Again, at SCES, student success is truly a team effort! One of my favorite authors, Jon Gordon, says the following about being a part of a team, “We all need a team to be successful. We are better together, and together we accomplish great things. If you are willing to learn together, grow together, unite together, and act together, you will accomplish more than you ever thought possible.” Let us continue to work together and accomplish great things for all of our children!

Keeping kids first,
Laura D. Meyer
