Shoally Creek Elementary - September Highlights
It has been a busy and exciting few weeks at Shoally Creek Elementary! As a leadership team, we have begun our classroom learning walks and have been thrilled to see strong Tier 1 instruction taking place across our school. We have also launched our ELA and Math intervention push-in groups, as well as our morning Academic Lab, where we are currently serving more than 50 students in both content areas. We are excited to watch our Blue Jays grow and soar this year. To inspire and encourage our students on their learning journeys, we welcomed the authors of Just a Chicken to SCE.
We recently celebrated our first group of Terrific Kids and are so proud of the positive leadership and character these students demonstrate each day. At Shoally Creek, we love recognizing both student and staff achievements. We were honored to celebrate Mrs. Woodham as our Certified Teacher of the Month and Mrs. Rinda as our Classified Employee of the Month. We are grateful for their leadership, dedication, and the positive impact they make on our students every day. Mrs. Woodham was also recognized as the Zaxby’s Teacher of the Month—an honor that is well deserved!
At SCE, we believe in serving others and fostering a strong sense of community. Our Hope Squad exemplifies these values and recently held its first meeting of the school year. We are excited to see the difference these student leaders will make throughout the year.
We are also grateful for the support of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, which has partnered with our school to encourage and uplift our staff. Most recently, teachers and staff enjoyed a special treat from the Hebrews Coffee Truck. We greatly appreciate the many ways Cudd Memorial supports our school community.
College Colors Day provided a fun opportunity to kick off football season, and our staff enjoyed a tailgate-themed lunch as we headed into Labor Day weekend.
We were also delighted to welcome family members to campus for Breakfast with Blue Jays. It has been a jam-packed start to the school year, and we could not be prouder of the hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm shown by our students, staff, and families. We look forward to seeing all that our Blue Jays will accomplish in the months ahead.
